The Miraculous Birth And An Adventurous Youth, Forming Up An Immaculate Passage Of Life, Until The Unimaginably Glorious Departure!
QUTHBUZZAMAN Dr. SHEIKH SUFI MUHAMMAD YOUSUF SULTAN SHAH QADIRI CHISHTI —the glorious champion of the renaissance of the present, the supreme commander of Sufis of the time, the messenger of universal peace and piety, ‘Muhyiddîn’ and ‘Mujaddid’ (the rejuvenator of religion and reviver of true tradition through Tawhîd-e-kâmil), to bring life to the ‘dead hearts’, bearing the brightest nūr, the divine light of Prophet Muhammad (Peace and Blessings Be Upon Him)
The Miraculous Birth And An Adventurous Youth, Forming Up An Immaculate Passage Of Life, Until The Unimaginably Glorious Departure!
Introduction
An exceptionally remarkable personality of the century. The marvellous image of Sulthani magnificence is engraved upon his majesty; glowing with glory bestowed by the sublime sovereignty of God Almighty! Inscribed by the divine light on his very forehead is the brightest name of beauty ‘Muhammad’, that covered in its shimmer and sheen seven heavens and the earth, for the populace of the world to witness it as the sacred sign and the proof of Prophetic grace!
Hzt. Quthbuzzaman belongs to the scholarly family of Vennipparambu which emanated long ago out of the transoceanic connections between India and Arabia and rooted in the cosmopolitan currents of Cochin — the historic port-city that cherish the profuse heritage of cultural and commercial exchanges across the Indian Ocean. Restoring the richness of Islamic tradition, while reviving the Sufi idiom for modern milieu and anchoring on the humanist sensibility of universal social harmony and peace, Hzt. Quthbuzzaman’s family had been contributing to this great regional pool of globally sprung cultural synergy.
This is a humbling journey through that indescribable life of perfection — seeking the soothing power of the unknown, longing to be in poetry of permanence, gently binding the boldest truth to bosom, the way the Holy Words of God embraced in hearts in crystal clarity and pristine beauty. With the blessings and supreme grace of God, in search of precious pearls and emeralds, to set aside the days of darkness, in the name of the source and sustainer of the souls, setting out to the fabulous fathoms of that Ocean of Light!
Miraculous Birth Of Quthbuzzaman
In the name of Allah-the Most Merciful. Sheikh Muhammed Muhyuddîn, one of the four brothers who came to Kerala four centuries ago from the holy land of Medina for the preaching of Islam. In this lineage, born to the Ahmad-Fatima couple in the famous Vennipparambu family at Aluva, Kerala, on the 17th of Ramadan, the holy day of Badr, 1365 (March 26, 1945), on Monday near Fajr prayer, the blessed birth time same as the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).
Birth of great souls will be as wonderful as their life!
The baby did not come out even one day after the mother starts having labor pain. At that time a Sayyid (descendants of the Prophet) in Cochin who was related to a family member Sayyid Hydrûs Koya in Ponnani, came to their house. He told those present there: “It does not matter what you do to give birth to the child, but will only be born after three days, the child is in struggle”. The struggle was to obtain Allah’s assurance that no one who holds my hand in good faith with the intention of good will be punished by Hell.
A similar incident took place during the birth of Sultanul Arifîn Sheikh Ahmad Kabîr Al-Rifai (RA). Births like these declare their high position in the world of souls. He came to the earth as a Qutb (supreme leader of Auliyas) from his father’s back itself – like the words of the Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah Be Upon Him): “I was a Prophet at a stage when Adam (A) was between soul and body”.
In childhood, He sought religious knowledge from His Father Sheikh Ahmad Musliyâr’ (May Allah be pleased with him), who was also Sûfi saint. During the time He came across a saying of the Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah Be Upon Him) which really shook him and the same became the cause of the spiritual journey which prolonged for 17 years, and that was:
“A believer has no peace until he meets his Lord.”
An unquenchable passion to see Allah stirred the young heart with invincible determination. He decided to leave all the comforts of home and go on a journey in search of the Lord.
He realized that Bombay was the center of the Arifîn (those who know God) of Allah, the living and the dead, understood that there was a situation where He could reach God. His uncles were there, and He left home in 1958 at the age of 13 with the consent of His father. He boarded the train from Aluva railway station and reached his uncle’s hotel in Dongri at Bombay. He spent three months with them in search for Allah and later sent back home.
After meeting the parents, He went back to Bombay to His uncle’s shop. When asked upon angrily depending on whom did He come back, He firmly replied:
“On Allah”
Realizing their displeasure at being there, He left, leaving everything in the hands of Allah. At night, a lonely 14-year-old boy on the streets of Mumbai, ruled by the underworld mafia at the time, sat on a ledge in Bildi Bazaar, convinced that The All-seeing Lord would look after Him.
Time passed, and when it was nearly Fajr time (dawn prayer), He went to the nearest mosque and prayed Tahajjud and recited the Qur’an. After fajr, He went to the Dargah of Sheikh Abdul Rahmân Bâwa (RA) in Bhisti Mohalla.
The tiredness of not sleeping compelled him to take a nap during which He dreamed of a place where the sea and the dargah (shrine) would come together. When inquired, someone said that there was a similar dargah in Hajilla and went to Hajilla with that person. It was the dargah of the great Haji Ali Shah Bukhari (RA) which is specially protected by Allah rising from the sea. Large ships pass by and large waves pound around, but the water never reaches the dargah with the special divine protection. He recited Ratîb al- Haddâd (collection of zikr) and surah al-Yasîn while sitting there according to the ijâzat (permission) from His father Sheikh Ahmad Musliyâr (RA). Also chapters of the Qur’an memorized from the homeland were recited over and over again.
Haji Ali Dargah, Mumbai
He told spiritually to Haji Ali Shah Bukhari (May Allah be Pleased with him) that He could stay here if got Ten rupees for expenses. The person who was with him was sent back. Haji Ali Shah Bukhari (RA) started giving Him what was asked; a new ten rupee note daily under his pillow. One could live comfortably for two weeks for that time. As promised earlier, He stayed there. When the money ran out, He met a business-man named Pashabhai from Mangalore. Upon learning that He was proficient in English, was invited to work as a Cashier at an establishment in Bhisti Mohalla Bombay.
During that time, He saw Pashabhai hurriedly going to his house from time to time. When his wife has severe abdominal pain, she should be rushed to the hospital. His co-worker from Karnataka said that despite performing two surgeries, there was no change. then He said “I will cure the stomach pain for 50 rupees”
At the age of eight, on the way home from the madrasa (islamic-school), a man who was unable to walk due to physical difficulties asked to take him to His Father and to bring him some water after making prayers. He instead went to a sidewalk and himself whispered prayers and blew into the water and gave it to the sick man. When he drank it, his illness was cured and he got up and walked. The Karamats (supernatural wonders) started at a young age. He cured the disease of Pashabhai’s wife by giving her the prayed water.
This Incident Spread All Over Bhishti Mohalla.
Sheikh Fakhruddîn Maulâna (ra), a well-known Sufi saint, arrives there during that time. The Imam of the Bhisti mohalla Mosque was the Murîd (disciple) of that sûfi master and also came to know about this incident. That is how he was associated with that great Master.
The next 18 years are events reminiscent of the life journeys of Sheikh Abdul Qâdir Jîlâni (ra). Sheikh Jilani (ra) was also the main guide in that quest to find the Lord. Leaving all things to Allah, He studied under various spiritual masters to attain spiritual enlightenment and knowledge through the virtues of renunciation, determination and extraordinary intellect. Sheikh Sufi Fakhruddin Maulana (may Allah be pleased with him) sworn him into Qadiriyya Tariqa (a sufi order) at Bhisti Mohalla.
The path of Allah’s rasûl Sayyiduna Muhammad (s.a.w) is through Sayyiduna Ali (ra), the gateway to any knowledge. For that, He spent 41 days in Jhulan maidan at Bombay, sitting at night on the ground and giving riyâla (spiritual training) to recite dictations. He reached the vast field and chanted prayers alone till Fajr time.
On the 41st day, just as Riyala was finishing up, He saw a handsome man on the road with a wide chest! He said salâm. He enquired about the ongoing of that place. But the answer was other things. One by one, He described a lot of things that would happen in the future. After the conversation, He was invited to have tea. He replied He does not eat from hotels. Then He was asked upon where He had eaten from in this place and forced Him to drink the tea while He was holding in His hand. The man had disappeared when He returned after saying two teas to the tea vendor.
When He went to the Master and told Him things, He said that it was Amîr-ul-Mu’minîn Ali ibn Abi Talib (ra).
Later He wrote a letter to the house to inform Father of these events. In His reply letter, the father advised to submit to the Sheikh with a poem,
“When you choose a man, choose the strongest. When you hold on to Erythrina tree, hold on to the most.”
It was a powerful advise to continue on the spiritual path. Then, at the behest of Sheikh Fakhruddin Maulana, He sat in a special Zikr with a 41-day fasting note in the dargah of Haji Ali Shah Bukhari (ra) to see the Prophet Khidr (a), the source of divine knowledge.
Large waves pound the dargah. He was coming closer to the waves, closed His eyes and uttered the zikr repeatedly. On the 41st day after the completion of the riyala and Fajr prayer, a healthy black Man with a shoulder bag stands in front of the dargah. Hzt. Khidr (a), the Mehbûb of Allah, received the newcomer by name.
He was stunned. When asked how He knew Him. He replied with the names of His grandfathers. When asked “if you were present when all these people were present”? Hzt. Khidr (a) replied ‘yes’. And sat down with holding His hands and said, “I have something to say.” After sitting down, He ate a small plant there. He said that there is no hunger or thirst if you eat it.
Then He announced things to come in the future and so on. After the talk it was suggested to avoid contact with people any more to meet Allah. When asked what to do with the expenses, He taught special verses of ‘Surah Al-An’Am’. New 10 rupees note will appear under his pillow every morning if He recites these verses before sleep. Khidr (a) said that the rest of the expenses should be donated on the same day.
When these events came to the notice of the Master, Sûfi Fakhruddin Maulana was ordered to do the next riyala of‘Bismi’. It is a strict ritual by eating Self-cooked food for six consecutive months of fasting. For that, He went to the dense forest in Bhandup, Mumbai. He sat alone in prayer near the dargah of Sayyid Gaiban Shâh Bâba (ra) in the forest where the wild beasts roamed freely.
Lion, leopard and other predators walk on the scavenger hunt, Food will be shared with them. The tigers will sweep and touch the area with their tails where He sits. Severe cold
when it gets dark, glowing eyes, including snakes, gather around and will look Him amazingly.
whoever fears Allah – everything else will fear him.
He returned to the city in 1960 at the age of 15 after the Riyala. He started demonstrating rain for 10 rupees, curing many people’s diseases and sorcery and did many other miracles. He lived for a long time in the islands and mountain peaks of Mumbai with spiritual training and worship.
It was a time of intoxicating worship to see the radiance of Allah. Later He went with His Master, Sufi Fakhruddin Maulana (ra) to the court of Sultanul-Hind Khwâjâ Mu’înuddîn Chishti (ra) of India. When the Ziyarat (visit) is done, Khwaja said to “Ask whatever you want, We will fulfil it”.
He also ordered to end the practice of receiving ten rupees. When asked what he would do with the expenses, Khwaja Mu’inuddin (may Allah be pleased with him) replied, “Tawakkaltu Allah”, The requested requirements were also gain. He then informed the glory of the holy places of Ajmer and also gave the Chishti tariqa. Then said;
‘You will always have my protection”.
Seven days later, at the invitation of nūr-e-hudā sayyiduna Muhammad Rasûlullâhi (s.a.w), the leader of both worlds, He spiritually flew away in the presence of Khwaja Muînuddin Chishti (ra) with the ability given by Allah to the high Auliyas to the Holy Medina. When they reached Rawla Sharif, the door opened automatically and He went inside. Desiring to see His Holiness Rasûlullâh (s.a.w.), He moved the silk above the sacred Qubba. And emotionally began to be puled off the topsoil, then blood began to pour from the fingertips. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon Him) came face to face with them and greeted them. Rasulullah (s.a.w) hugged and embraced the Teenager. As a result, the 16-year-old’s sweat turned fragrant.
The Title ‘Quthbuzzaman’ (Leader Of Contemporary Auliyas Of Allah) From Holy Prophet (PBUH)
And other predictions were informed of. Fear was removed from His heart. He started talking to everyone in their grave itself. The state of glory transformed.
On the instructions of His master Sheikh Soofi Fakhruddin Maulana (RA) He set off to the famous Hâji Malang in the Sahyadri Mountains in Kalyan, Mumbai. On the way, He visited the shrines of many great saints who had come from Arabia to preach and settled atop where Hajii Abdurrahman Malang Shah Baba (RA) rests.
He had the habit of being in ibâdat (worship) near the grave of Auliyas. Once when His friend in Mumbai Sayyid Godâwâla came atop of haji-malang on a horse to deliver Him food, He was sitting with a mighty lion. He also shared that food with lion.
The rest of the journey to reach Allah was led by Abdurrahman (ra). He was a great Companion who came on the instructions of Sayyiduna Rasulullahi (s.a.w). When the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked the Sahaba’s (peace be upon
them) who was going to catch the Kâfir jinn (genie), called ifrit, in the thick jungles of India. He said, “I will go,” and started the day before His wedding.
This Companion was later known as ‘Bridegroom of Haji Malang’. ifrit was captured and executed and turned in to a stone. It is still located there. Sayyiduna Ali (ra) also had gone to capture ifrit. Later, in the 16th century, Allah showed that qabar (grave) of great Abdurrahman (ra), to the Indian emperor Muhyiddîn Muhammad (Sultan Aurangazeb). The Sultan and His entourage began to clear the forest and take care of the Dargah.
The shrine is famous for its supernatural source of fresh water and respectful visits of Lions.
While on His profound times of worship and remembrance in a cave on the hills down the dargah, Abdurrahman (ra) asked Him to pay visit and spiritually showed the way through the thick forests to ‘Panch pîr’ dargah, the sacred makhbara of the five followers of the Prophet (saw).
When asked around, it is a place where the tiger-attacks are common. Residents said no one who went there had returned. But still, He set out on a Wednesday morning by the firmness of Abdurrahman (ra)’s word and by the unshakeable faith in Allah.
One has to climb over large boulders to reach the dense forest on the other side, He climbed to the top of the ‘Balansaar’ peak in western ghats. Adventurously, clinging to the rocks. The view from atop contained of broad mountains as far as the eye can see.
Haji malang, Mumbai
The journey is done while fasting. He walked along the path He saw a rill while walking down the hill. Tigers and Lions are roaming in the surroundings, and by the grace of the Rasûlullâh (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) they looked like kittens.
It is not possible to go there without the consent of Abdurrahman (ra). A lonely journey in the vast beauty of the Western Ghats, aimed only at the Allah- Lord of all the worlds!
He walked seven miles and reached Panchpîr in the evening and did Ziyarat. He had only two loaves of bread and jaggery in the shoulder bag. He broke fast with half a loaf of bread and drank water from the small trench there.
Next to the dargah, He saw a very big majestic tree that looked like it was as old as the Earth itself and a large cave-like hole in that tree. He cleaned the leopard dungs inside and settled in there.
He engaged in worship with fasting and ran out of food on hand. His plan was to go on a Ziyarat and go back. But God’s decision was different.
On the third day, while sitting in Murâqaba (meditative worship in the sitting position of Attahiyat), He was spiritually immersed in the realm of Allah, the Eternal. He began to see the sights in a supernatural state!
He Witnessed The Events From The Time Of Prophet Adam (As) To The End Of The World, The Events That Took Place In The Seven Heavens And The Earth.
The secret creations of Allah, the world of Angels, Lauh, Qalam, Arsh and Kursi (the throne of Allah), the heavens and hell, the prophecies of the prophets, and the future of His own life.
He got immersed in the powerful energy of the eternal God. Became like a part of the nature, with termites moving on the feet. The blood began to clot of the stillness that the dried-up skin stuck to bones and body looked like a skeleton! Without eating, this condition lasted more than 11 months!
He witnessed all worlds!
Passed the wakeful state of consciousness and remained to the realm of super- consciousness. The body was purified, as the invisible stains in the heart and blood were totally cleansed off in time. The body thus got free from all possible impurities and fit to receive the divine nûr (light) of Allāh.
The profound process of perfection. The death before death.
Knowing about the physical condition through a spiritual vision in meditation, Abdurrahman (r) of Haji Malang ordered His khâdims (servents) to rush immediately with a palanquin to the cave-like hole on the tree-trunk at Panch Pîr.
After three days of treatment, He returned to old condition as his middle and knees could not be straightened. The scar of termite bite was still on his knees when all life. The All- Seeing and Al-Mighty Allah engraved all the sights in His heart and based upon that many of the things that followed were put into practice. He had seen in its entirety, the information contained in all the Kitâb’s (islamic scrkiptures) and have won debates over any great scholars.
This incident became a big step in the quest to get to know the Almighty Lord. The recurrence of Sheikh Muhyiddîn Abdul Qâdir Jîlâni (ra)’s pre-causal death in His life also came to His representative.
When He regained full health after the treatment, the order of Abdurrahman (ra) came, He was instructed to go and learn by-heart the different ilmul-kitâbs (islamic knowledge in sharîa and tarìqa) with Hzt. Bapûti Musliyâr who came from Ponnani (a place in Kerala which known as Mecca of Malabar).
He is a great scholar and linguist of the four Madhabs who conducted an educational institution at the Masjid in Kalyan, Bombay. Realizing the greatness of the disciple, the Teacher, who was an expert in Tasawwuf, helped a lot in memorising books like Tafseerul Qur’An, Mishkat al-Masabih and Ihyâ. The Qabar of this great master is located in Solapur, Mumbai, where many dignitaries rest.
His Primary education was from Father and Grandfather and from the native Farîd Musliyâr of the local Dars (islamic school).
He memorised the book which was described as ‘even if all the books in the world were lost, only Imam Ghazali’s Ihyâ Ulûmuddîn would be enough for the disciple to acquire all the information in the great book known to the scholarly world’.
Abdurrahman (ra) then instructed Him to go to the mosque in Titwal and learn some other Books. Abdurrahman (may Allah be pleased with him) ordered in a dream that the people in charge of the mosque should make arrangements for the visitor. Accordingly, by handing over the keys to the library, the people there facilitated His stay and study. He acquired a variety of knowledge. The knowledge that was once heard was never forgotten because of His extraordinary intelligence and memory power.
He Attained Erudition In The Fields Of Sharia And Tariqa.
He is Fluent in Arabic, Urdu, English and Malayalam. Acquired knowledge in various fields of Scriptures such as Vedas and Upanishads. During all those journeys, He would fast forever.
After all of this, He returned to His first Master; Sufi Fakhruddin Maulana (ra), The fond connection between the Master (sheikh) and the disciple (murîd) was an inseparable unity rooted in the divine cause. Together they set out for Rampur, Uttar Pradesh to meet His Master’s Sheikh, Sayyid Ahmad Jamāluddīn (ra) of Baghdad, a descendant of Ghaus-e- A’zam Shaikh Jīlāni (ra).
He stayed there as a khâdim of those great Man who was the star of AhleBait. Two months later, the Sheikh set out to visit His weak Mother in Baghdad. Sayyid Ahmad Jamaluddîn (may Allah be pleased with him) looked at the young man’s face and said,
“Let the little SULTAN come with us to Baghdad this time”. He too wanted to go in His mind.
Baghdad! The land blessed by the presence of Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jilani (may Allah be pleased with him). They set sail by ship, which was the primary mode of transport of that time. The Sheikh reached home and visit His mother, who had been in bed for two years, then She got up and hugged her son when She saw Him.
Sheikh Ahmad Jamâluddîn (may Allah be pleased with him) showed Him the Holy Dargah of Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jilani (may Allah be pleased with him) and said, “here is My duty come to an end”.
When they reached the dargah, the servants came and kissed the Sheikh’s hands and gave the keys. With those keys, He opened seven doors and entered the holy Makhbara.
It was a very emotional situation. The passion for the Prophet (peace be upon him) and Ahlebait was piqued from early childhood. He had been holding on to Sheikh Jilani (ra) since the age of eight. If the Surah Yâsîn is recited for the noble sake of Sheikh Jilani (ra) and written in the school exams, He would not have learned anything but would have passed the exams.
Now He was lucky to be in that holy presence of fath-u-rabbâni, Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jilani (ra). When He was in side the holy dargah of Ghaus-e-A’zam, reciting Sūrah Yāsīn, He met His beloved Father who had passed away.
One night, three years after leaving His journey, His father left for the other world and saying that “I was leaving here” and handed over the Ijazat (deeds of worship). He knew everything by sitting in Bhandup Mumbai. He received first Riyâla also from His father who is in now Sheikh jîlani’s (ra) presence. He finished reciting Yasîn with burst of memories and tears.
He asked Sheikh Ahmad Jamauddin (ra), “Let me stay here.” But He was told to leave within an hour. Due to the transcendental feeling and unconditional love He felt for the presence of Sheikh Jîlâni (ra), when He asked again for permission to stay near the Dargah for the night, Sheikh agreed to spend the night only in the outsides of the Dargah.
He worshipping there emotionally, Sheikh Jilani (ra), who was watching everything, appeared in front of Him while praying Tahajjud. Sheikh Jilani (ra) put His own hand on the young man’s head and called Him
“Sûfi Muhammad Yousuf Sultân” and ordered Him to
“Renew The Contract”.
To that call of honour from the supreme seat of wilāya, all the insightful Sufis of the time were witness. When Allah raises His beloved servants to various ranks, He will inform the other Auliyas who they are. Those who came to know Him started calling the young man ‘Sultan’.
At the age of 17, Sheikh Jilani (ra) became known to the world as ‘Sultan‘. By the time He returned to India with the His Master, His name had become ‘Sultan Baba’ (a honorific term).
This event is a major turning point in the making of the superior of Tawhîd in the 21st century. On His arrival in India, He inquired about the renewal of the treaty that Sheikh Jilani (ra) had with the top Scholars, Auliyas, friends, and the Ulama’s of the Islamic Universities in Uttar Pradesh.
The Sheikhs and scholars, many many things were said. Even though He tried everything, Sheikh Jilani (ra) says that it was not right. Meanwhile, Sufi Fakhruddîn Maulâna, (ra) the own Master from Rajasthan, passed away. The great Sûfi Saint who strives to achieve the goal of the disciple’s inner, dies by laying His head on the disciple’s lap. The affectionate relation between the Master and Disciple was beyond words. The Qabar of this great Saint is in Shivapur hills, Mumbai.
Following that, He went down in search of other Sheikhs (sufi teachers).
He then travelled to various states in India and Pakistan as part of the inquiry to seek the renewal of the contract.
After travelling for years, He returned to Mumbai. Sheikh Farîd Military Bava and Sheikh Mammûtty Bava, famous personalities of Kerala have been on duty during some of the Sultan Baba’s voyages. A lot of Miracles have been demonstrated from them.
During the period 1960-75, Sultan Baba, who was radiant with youth, was able to find peace in Allah with His extraordinary selfless devotion to any adventurous worship and riyala by His love of God.
He completed Asmâul Badr’s zealous riyâla from Sheikh Muhammad Mash’hûr by completing a three-month Fast of drinking nothing but black tea in Bombay.
He lived and performed worship for the grace of Al-mighty God in the famous caves of Ajmer hills where Sheikh Jilani (ra) and Khwaja Mu’inuddin (ra) are lived. And other well known holy places where He was worshipped including Tane, Kalyan, Shivapur, Rampur, Dada Hayat in Karnataka where son of Hzt. Ali (ra) lived, Muragamala Dargah, Delhi Nizamuddin and so on.
When they got a more energetic and courageous disciple, all the Sheikhs (sufi masters) did zealous training. Bismi, Ayatul-Kursi, Asmaul-Husna and Asmaul Badiriyyin were chosen for their various riyalas. Due to the rigidity of Asmaul-Husna, the room in which it was held destroyed.
Once upon a time, when He was alone in worship, someone came and said, ‘You are superior to Ghaus-e-Azam’. Realizing that there was no one superior to the leader of all the Auliyas, Qutb-ul-aqtâb Sheikh Jilani (ra). The Iblis, who had come to test Him, was kicked out by saying, “Get Away”. Because of this had pain in legs for days.
He used to experiment with souls of animals when He was living alone in the wild. By the grace of Allah, Sultan Baba was able to take back the life of creatures of God, thus created all from the same soul.
In connection with the inquiry into the renewal of the treaty ordered by Sheikh Jilani (ra) with the eminent Sheikhs. He accepted various Tariqâs and many of them who realized the greatness of Sultan Baba and gave Him the Caliphate. But Gause-e-Azam says that is not fulfilled.
He have received the Caliphates of Qâdiri from Sûfi Fakhruddîn Maulâna (ra), of Rifa’i Sheikh Sayyid Ismail (ra) of Rajasthan, of Qidriyah Tariqa from Sheikh Sayyid Muhammad bin Abul Ghazâli (R) of Bombay Bhandup, of Chishti from Sheikh Farûq Hussain Chishti (ra) of Ajmer, and of Naqshbandi from Sheikh Jameel Mian (ra) in UP.
Sayyid Shaduli (ra) from the island of Androth also gave the Caliphate of Shaduliya. And, spiritually received the Caliphate of the Chishti from Khwaja Mu’inuddin Chishti. Later, Sheikh Farûq Hussain Chishti (ra) gave it directly with great events in Dargah of Ajmer.
In places like Kalyan, Titwal, Thalassery and Shivapur, He had worked as a Khatîb (prayer-leader) according to the Shâfi and Hanafi Madhabs.
After years of inquiries, Sheikh Jilani’s (ra) order to renew the contract was not fulfilled despite accepting 7 different tarîqas. It caused very sad to Him. Then He build a hut on
the top of the desolate hill-top of Lotwâla in Mumbai, all four sides covered by the river Ulhas and deciding to stay here until dies.
Haji Abdurrahman (ra) came and instructed Him to go to Hzt. Qamaralt Darwesh (ra)’s dargah in Shivapur. A communal riots broke out in the area when His journey was delayed due to the condition of staying here till death. The rebels sent a letter to leave the area. But when He refused, 40 people came to catch Him. The hut was destroyed by fire. He ran and jumped into the river Ulhas with shouting “Yâ Ali“. He swam ashore and later went to Shivapur.
The holy shrine of Hzt. Qamarali Darwesh (may Allah be pleased with him), who died at the age of 18. A world-famous Dargah with a miracle that scientifically unexplainable.
mystical stone in the Dargah
He was told to stand as a Khatîb (prayer leader and preacher) in a nearby Mosque while performing Ziyarat (spiritual conversation) with Qamarali Darwesh (ra). He replied that this long hair and beard up to the waist would not be cut and could not argue with the scholars there. Qamarali Darwesh (ra) said just to perform the required Khutbah (public preach) duties.
He worked as a Khatib according to the Hanafi Madhab for two years at the Shivapur Juma Masjid in Mumbai. In addition to learning books, He issued Fatwas (legel pronouncement by a Mufti) by in all the four major Madhabs.
Sultan Baba was a well-known name in North India for His many Karâmât (supernatural wonders).
Buses will stopes automatically at His glance. Raise His hand to the sky and it will rain.
With the permission of Allah, the ailments and witchcraft will be cured.
In the period of 1969-70, in his speech on Juma-khutba, He harshly criticized some scholars who practiced non-religious activities, and the enraged scholars cast a spell (sihr) on them. With that He found it difficult to speak, it was as if the tongue did not seem to come out. Sayyiduna Muhammad Rasulullah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came in front of Him who the upcoming bearer of the Noor-e-Muhammed (s.a.w) which should be kept intact until the End Day. He gestured with His hand and said, ‘The magic will go away like that. With that the unrest was over.
He dreamed that one day two pleasant people would come to see him. On the third day, on a Friday during the juma-khutba, two men with bright faces entered the Mosque. They came straight ahead and looked at the person performing the speech. When the final dua was over, they said they would like to talk to Him. He took them to the room.
The elder man asked if He knew how to recite Tawhîd!
A stunning question, whether tawhîd is known to a great Man who after years of roaming and fighting with the will of Him, outer world and the intrigue of iblis, passed through the
status of Faqîr and performed many great miracles, with thousands of Murids (disciples) and the reputed Caliph (authorised person who gives Tariqa) of 6 different Tarîqas! This was followed by a long and Tasawwuf based discussion with questions and answers.
The oldest of the two was Sheikh Sayyid Muhammad Bâdshâh Qâdiri Yamani (ra) of Wadi, Karnataka, a superior and a well-known Sufi saint of that time, and His Caliph Sheikh Madârshâh Qâdiri (ra) of Pune, Mumbai. The spiritual discussions with the three eminent Auliyas.
When Sayyid Muhammad Badshah (ra) spoke about the complete Kalima and the renewal of the covenant with Allah in the world of spirits, Then Hat. Qamarali Darvesh (ra) said to stop asking questions and accept Badshah’s (ra) talk when He came spiritually from that nearby dargah. He remembered the dream He had three days ago and the words of Sayyiduna Ali (ra) and Sheikh Jilani (ra). He stopped the objections and started listening carefully. Then Muhammad Badshah (may Allah be pleased with him) informed about Kalimat al-Tawhid and its secrets. He clarified the meaning of what Sheikh Jilani (ra) talk to renew the covenant.
On that night, Sayyid Muhammad Badshah (ra}, the leader of Tawhid left and handing over His caliph, Madar Shah Qadiri, to take oath in Tawhid. On that night, when the excitement was at its peak, Sheikh Jilani (ra) led the way to the perfection of Qadiri sufi order through the Baiat (a pledge of commitment) in Kalima tawhîd and renewed the covenant with al=Mighty Allah.
Two weeks later, Sayyid Muhammad Badshah (may Allah be pleased with him) opened the Talqîn to gain knowledge directly from the Rasulullah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), the source of knowledge. On the night of Miraj, Allah imparted the knowledge of Haqîqa and Ma’rifa to His Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). Similarly, the heritor of the blessed islamic regal path, Sheikh Sûfi Muhammad Yousuf Sultân Shâh Qâdiri Chishti, the protagonist chosen by Allah as the representative of the Rasûlullâhi (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in this period, imparted that knowledge to Him through the transfer of Kalimat al-tawhid
The renowned aphorism, a saying by the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came so true:
“Anyone knows his own body/self, (she/he) knows the Lord.”
The self is realized through sheer experience. The dream of life to meet with God has come true, a communion in splendid satiety.
Alhamdulillah!
Worship and meditation continued again. A few days later, He visited Sayyid Muhammad Nizâmuddîn Auliya (ra) in Delhi. Nizamuddin Auliya (ra) said, “oh Sultan, I see a boy on your back,” when He was informed that He intended to remain in the forest with worship during the conversation.at age, 25, when has not even thought about marriage.
Nizamuddin Auliya (may Allah be pleased with him) announced the good news that in that case the child would be given His name, His presence would always be with that child.
That child is Sheikh Dr. Nizâmuddîn Sultân Shâh Qâdiri Chishti, the leader of Tawheed and the leader of the believers in the contemporary world. When he returned and visited his Syed Mohammad Badshah Qadiri Yamani (ra) in Wadi, he ordered him to get married following the most perfect example of Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).
Nizamudhin Upappa & Quthbuzzaman Nizamuddin Auliya & Quthbuzzaman
He returned to his native place in 1973. He wore long beard stretching below his belly, his hair was even longer, and a large rudraksha chain was used as rosary bead, as tasbīh. Getting home, even his family could not recognize him. Everyone was astonished when he revealed himself. He married from Aluva itself. Nizamuddin Auliya’s word came true – A boy was born on the 11th of Rabiul Akhir, on the 833rd Urus Day of Sheikh Jilani (ra). The birth of that child, which hinted at the next Muhyiddin, did bring happiness to the family. He was named Nizamuddin as promised.
The boy grew up under the protection of Allah’s eminent Arifs. Later, he went to see his teacher in Wadi several times. In fulfillment of the Prophet’s (saw) prophecy that a renaissance leader would come in every century, Syed Mohammad Badshah Qadiri Yamani (ra), great Master of Tawheed, in the presence of caliphs, auliyas and scholars from all over the world, on November 25, 1975 (1395 Dulqaad 20) at Halkatta Sharif in Wadi, Karnataka gave the complete Qadiriyyah Aaliyat al-Tayyiba to succeed him by giving the Caliphate of Twareeqah and the authority to give the Caliphate to others. Sayyid Badshah (ra) declared. “Now the Sultan will guide you,”
The 34th representative of the Rasulullah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and the 17th representative of Sheikh Muhyiddin Abdul Qadir Jilani (ra). He was born as the rising sun to remove the darkness that covered the world and to shine the Divine light of Tawheed in the univers. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and Amir al-Mu’minin Sayyiduna Ali (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) commanded to go to his homeland and commissioned him to spread Tawheed. Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Give Tawheed to whomever has not missed Fajr prayer for 40 years. But Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) agreed when Sultan Baba asked him to consent to Tawheed for all those who came to him intending to die with faith.
The noble mission performed by the Ambiyas, the Companions and their successors. He returned to his native Kerala. Before leaving, some of the Auliyas, who were friends, said, “Kerala is the land of sorcery, the Sultan please stay here. All facilities will be provided.” He have been living at home in Kerala since 1975 with the invincible determination of “the mission entrusted to me by the nobles is that they will take care of it all”.
Until then, known as the land of the Kuchelans (poor people) began developing. The third phase of Kerala’s economic growth took place in the following years. Scholars, laymen, and others who knew the glory of Sheikh Yusuf Sultan Shah Qadiri began to come from different castes and religions to cure Demonic plague and diseases that could not be cured by others. With the permission of Allah, diseases like cancer, AIDS, etc. were cured. He became famous in his own country.
The Truth of Islam was hidden when various organisations took over the leadership of the Muslim community from the leaders of Tawheed. He said that he saw a group of religious institutions and organisations lying dead in a Islamic tradition in Kerala, reminiscent of the triumphal procession of Sheikh Jilani (ra) in Baghdad. The propagation of Tawheed began in various countries. The true Islam was brought back in the time of the Rasulullah (peace be upon him) which was foreign to Kerala. We must still become true believers who love the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) at all times, always in the spirit of “La ilaha illallah Muhammadur Rasoolullah”. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) should be remembered as well as Allah. We must perform the duty of witnessing in complete Tawheed, the first condition of each of us in the affairs of Islam. The best of the dictations, ‘La ilaha illallah Muhammadurasulullah’, should always be in the soul. This act was performed by all the Prophets from Adam (a) onwards. This is what the Holy Companions kept close to their hearts. The same message was conveyed by dignitaries like Sheikh Rifai (ra). It must be done in the presence of His representatives whom Allah has sent for it. That is what Allah said in Surah Al-Fath (victory) in the Qur’an: “Surely those who swear allegiance to you swear allegiance to Allah. God’s hand is over their hands. So whoever transgresses, it is for his own evil. Whoever fulfils his covenant with God, he will be rewarded with a great reward. “
The Oath in it is the testimony of Tawheed and the Covenant made with Allah in the world of Souls. Success in the Hereafter will only be possible if that agreement is renewed. At the behest of Sheikh Jilani (ra), an investigation was carried out for years to renew the agreement. It is said in the Qur’an that To all men in the world of spirits, When Allah asked “Am I not your Rabb?” all people, including the different religions living today, have said “YES” and accepted it, that soul resides in our body in this world. The people were convinced of the reality of true Islam that they will not be able to succeed in the Hereafter unless that agreement is renewed.
According to the covenant made by Human souls with Allah, every child born on earth is a Muslim by pure nature. Later, each religion lives and dies in different streams as it grows. Those who are born in Muslim households are Lahir (the world of bodies) Muslims, but in order to be Batin (the world of souls) Muslims, they have to bear Witness in Tawheed from the true representatives of the Prophet (peace be upon him). In Surah Al-Ambiya, Allah says to His Messenger: “Say: I am being taught that your God is One God, so are you Muslims?” But in order to be a Believer, one has to bear witness in Kalimat Tawheed (Absolute Kalima)
This is because the Mu’min are the ones who conveyed the good news of Allah through the Qur’an that you will be welcomed without trial. Muslims are not like that either heaven or hell after the trial of Allah. If you are a complete Muslim, you will have the Recommendation of the Prophet (peace be upon him). Recommendations are not forthcoming if you are not an explicit Muslim, so it is that group of Muslim communities of different streams in recent times that is losing hope. “In the last days your community will be divided into 73 sects, all but one will be in hell.” those sects that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) prophesied are now carrying out many heinous acts in the name of Islam.
The Tawheed of all the Prophets from Adam (a) to Isa (a) is the same as the Tawheed of the community of the Rasulullah (peace be upon him). That is what the Rasulullah (peace
and blessings of Allaah be upon him) declared: “The scholars of my community are like the Prophets of old times.” Prophet Musa (a) wanted to be in this community because of his desire to inculcate in his followers the spirit of Tawheed. But the Tawheed of all the previous communities is by adding the names of those Prophets. If anyone wants to come, he has to testify in Tawheed. For the second stage of I’man (faith) to be complete, one must accept and witness in the Kalimat Tawheed from the representatives who are the true heirs of the Prophet (peace be upon him). In the Qur’an, Allah has spoken of Ulul- Amr, the Imam, Valiyy al-Murshid, the Guide, the Warner, and so on.
It is about them that it is said that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) should be blessed as Allah blessed Prophet Ibrahim (a) in the Ibrahimiyah Swalath. When Allah sent innumerable Prophets from the family of Prophet Ibrahim to Tawheed and renewed the covenant, more than 1400 years ago, their successors commissioned the community of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) to carry out the same mission. On the night of Mi’raj, our leader Rasulullah (peace be upon him) saw Allah, who is merciful to the servants, we also had the opportunity to see Him spiritually through the hidden secrets inside the everyday Prayers given by Him. It tells us through the hadith, “Prayer is the Mi’râj of Believers.”
Their followers are the “Mu’min (True Believers)” who preached the good news in the Qurân. Allah puts faith in their hearts and bestows blessings of glory and peace of mind. By performing the first act of Islâm, one gets to know Allah and His Messenger better and completes the other acts of prayer. But those who live without vows cannot see God as worthy. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) likened them to the death of the Jâhiliyyah (ignorant). “If a person dies without taking an oath, he has died an ignorant death.” Also, Sayyiduna Rasoolullahi (peace be upon him) has warned us that “if a person dies without taking an oath, he will die by leaving the grip of Islam.”
Sheikh Jilâni (may Allah be pleased with him) said, “All the Valiyy’s are in the way of each of the Prophets and I am in the way of the Rasulullah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).” In Baghdad, the crowds were announced and invited to the true mode of the same Tawheed. Sheikh Jilani (ra) captured and gave Tawheed to the Auliyas who were Muslims who performed great deeds even flying in the air without Tawheed.
Sheikh Ahmad Kabeer Rifa’i (may Allah be pleased with him) said that Tawheed is the same sweetness given to people of any religion because of its sanctity. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) induced the Companions by immersing Tawheed in their breath. Quthbuzzaman also invited to it.
The skeptics were genuinely convinced. The Imams of the Maɗhab and scholars explained the subject of Islam from 1 to 5 and how the first obligatory act was shown by them, including Shart (condition) and Fard (ritual) “I came down to preach with the message of Holy Tawheed by the command of Allah. I remind you that if you are prevented from entering this holy path by the framework created by organisations in the name of Islam and the loss of preserved status and wealth, you wil l fail in the presence of Allah tomorrow”. Heeding to this advice, scholars and laymen, including men and women, used to come to take the oath of allegiance to the Holy Tawheed.
In 1986, when Quthbuzzaman’s disciple Abdullah from Bangalore went on Hajj, Quthbuzzaman and some Disciples had gone to send him off. Since they are Pathans, a large number of people will accompany the Pilgrim at the airport with great celebration. When Quthbuzzaman came, he left the people, shook hands with them, kissed them and told them to pray. Seeing this, all those who followed the great Scholar covered Quthbuzzaman. “Insha Allah, we will see you in Makkah,” said Quthbuzzaman. Then the scholar became skeptical. “How can the Sheikh get there without a ticket and a visa? He told me he would see me there.” Then he forgot about it. He is also a person who longs to see Prophet Khidr (A). While on his way to Makkah to perform the Tawaf of the Holy Ka’aba, a man suddenly came and took his hand and greeted him. Then he felt somewhat cold, and this was not the hand of an ordinary person. When the man holding his hand left and he was wondering if it was Khidr Nabi (a), Quthbuzzaman came and greeted him. Then asked, “Why Ustâd, did you not want to see the Prophet Khidr (a) and yet did not recognize him?” He was very upset. Quthbuzzaman is also vanished off when he was standing saddened that he did not understand the Prophet Khidr (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) because he doubted Shaykh’s words. After leaving Hajj, he returned home and seeked Tawbah from Quthbuzzaman.
Like the Prophets, Allah will inform that community before the Auliyas are appointed. Arif Bi’llah Sheikh Sayed Mohammad Koya (ra), a well – known Sufi saint resting at the Kozhikode Masjid Sadath, was asked by his Murid, Edakudi Kunjabdullah Haji, “Who will be in this position after your death?” When asked, Sheikh sat in thought for a while. Then he said, “After my time, a great man named ‘YUSUF’ will come from Ernakulam. He will be the Quthbuzzaman (superiormost and the leader of all auliyas of a time) of this Era“
When it was announced in 1966, it was the time Quthbuzzaman was searching to meet Allah. Years passed, on several occasions, the proclamation of ‘the Sultan’s rule after my death’ continued. “All the thwareeqaths can be obtained from there.” he informed. He used to pray for the revelation of that holy spirit in the prayer congregations. As death approached, the children sadly asked, “Who will protect us if you leave?” Then he said “You have nothing to fear. Your man will come here in the seventh year after I die. He will protect you.” As mentioned, in the seventh year, Sultan Quthbuzzaman came to Masjid Sadat and his children and disciples they swore allegiance to Quthbuzzaman and witnessed their master’s prophecy come true.
Quthbuzzaman Shaykh Yusuf Sultan Shah Qadiri Chisthi is mentioned in a letter written by an Indian Emperer ‘Heed ibnu Wadah’ to the Rasulullah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) 1000 years before the Prophet’s arrival. The message of that writing shall be quoted here as the history itself is very long.
“I have accepted Sayyiduna Rasoolullahi (peace be upon him) from today. I have the most faith, whether it comes while I am alive or after my death. I have vowed all the help you need. If we cannot see here, please accept me with utmost dignity in the Hereafter. You must allow someone from my country to represent you as your last successor, who will be appointed as the last representative.”
To preserve it, 200 scholars from the Muslim community of the time were housed in Medina. They built houses for each of them and married each of them one slave girl. A leader was appointed to preserve this gold-plated writing. It was placed in a box
underground and kept safe. “If it does not come in his time, it must be handed over to the eldest son.” Thus, when the Prophet (peace be upon him) came, he ordered that this letter should be given directly. They were known as the Ansari (the helpers) family.
The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, was in Makkah. Ansari Companion Abu Salmathulaila (ra) of that series went to Makkah and handed over the Letter when he was preaching Tawheed. It was in his lineage that Quthbuzzaman‘s grandfather ‘Muhammad Muhyuddin’ (ra) was born in Medina. They came to Kerala four centuries ago to propagate Tawheed in order to be born in India, the last representative of the Prophet (peace be upon him) in that Letter.
Tawheed, which is found in books and disputes, made the religion alive by engraving it in human souls. On Thursday, February 25, 1999, at Aluva, he proclaimed six eminent scholars as his caliphs, wearing special clothing for the consecration of the Holy Tawheed. He also gave the caliphate to some disciples in Mumbai.
When the Rasulullah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came to Medina to spread Tawheed, he built his first headquarters. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) appeared in a dream in front of a disciple of Sultan Quthbuzzaman a headquarters for his representative who was on the mission. He pointed to a beautiful place by the river and said, “Tell the sheikh to take the place even if you don’t have the money.” Thus they bought the land on the banks of the river Periyar by the will of Allah. On August 6, 2006, at 3 pm, Quthbuzzaman inaugurated the ‘Jilani Shareef’ by hoisting the flag, accompanied by the sound of the Takbîr of thousands of peoples.
At the age of 21, he found a mosque in Baghdad called Jilani at the time. The mosque where prayers are answered after two Rakat. In his country too, the young man wanted to build a mosque called Jilani. It has been realized over the years. Jeelani Masjid was built on 16 August 2007 in Jeelani Sharif. A flagpole was also erected. “It is the same mosque where the dua is answered. No matter what my disciples do, if they come to me next to this flagpole and ask me for help, I will do it. If there are bad ones among the disciples, I have done no wrong; from the age of 15, I did not exhale a single breath except by the Zikr of Allah, and It will not go away. I have been assured of that. “, he declared with utter confidence.
“Tawheed have been given to you, don’t hurt even an ant anymore.” The spokesman of the great Tawheed taught us how to deal with our fellow beings through the words of mercy. On May 8, 2011, , he presented the Khilafat to seven disciples from different states of India on the instructions of Allah at the Khilafat Conference held at Jeelani Sharif in the presence of Auliyas, scholars and Sayyid Lahiruddin Kaylani, the grandson of Sheikh Jilani (ra).
The 19th grandson of Sheikh Jilani (ra) and the 28th grandson of Sayyiduna Rasulullahi (saw) who is known as the head of Ahl-al-Bayt, Sayyid Hashimuddin Qadiri Jilani, the Sheikh of the Qadiriyya Tariqah, who has many disciples all over the world came to the Jeelani Mosque in Aluva in 2013 on the instructions of Sheikh Muhyuddin Jilani (RA) and declared :
“Those who cannot reach the Jeelani’s Dargah in Baghdad can come to the Jilani Masjid in Aluva instead.”

Without Tarbiyyah (the routine made to practice by the Shaykhs), it is not possible to eradicate bodily desires such as pride, jealousy, arrogance, laziness and anger. In Kerala, the reality of Islam that the basis of faith is Tawheed has been restored. ‘No one can bury the truth, and even if has to lose head for the truth, will not bow down to the untruth. Religious scholars must stop deceiving the community. Sharia is the external aspect of religion and Tariqa is the internal aspect of theology. You cannot be a true Muslim without practising both. ‘
Muslims were organised in the name of Islam after the time of Quthubuzzaman Mamburam Syed Alavi (ra) and Ali Musliyâr (ra) in late 1900’s, the revolutionary leaders of Malabar, and the real Shaykhs of the Qadiriyya sufi order. The collapse of the Ottoman Caliphate in Turkey as a result of the two world wars also led to the formation of new organizations everywhere in the name of Islam at that time.
Widespread today are the new movements in the name of Islam that came into existence. False Sheikhs came out claiming Sufism in the name of tariqah. Sultan Quthbuzzaman sharply criticized the false Sheikhs who said that one should not pray, without recognizing the intrigues of Iblis and the false scholars who said that Shariah is enough and Tariqah isn’t needed. He brought to light their quarrels over the wealth of undeserving people. He taught his followers the art of recognizing false shaykhs who mislead people. They (fake scholars and Sheikhs) all fled to other lands. False scholars and false sheikhs are two groups that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) feared even more than the Dajjal. They are creating confusion and endangering this community. The Shariah and the Tariqah are what Allah and His Messenger (saw) have taught. Both are essential for a Muslim man. Those who say no to any of these are saying no to what Allah and His Messenger have taught. A Muslim can never do that.
There are false scholars who say that Shariah should be completed before accepting Tariqa. Shariah is completed only when buried in the ‘Qabar’. Then the narrator who recites the Thalqeen tells the corpse to remember the covenant made with Allah. The covenant made with Allah at Alam al-Arwah (previous world) before it came into the womb of the Mother. After death, a man returns to his old state. In the world, if the person who does not remember that agreement dies, it will not be possible at all in the grave. He who does not practice Tawheed in life cannot recite it at the time of death. This will be a great loss in the grave and in the Hereafter. That is why it is obligatory to renew the oath of allegiance in Tawheed. The Islamic Renaissance began with the bold proclamation to the world of this great truth, the first Fard of Islamic affairs.
Wanting to die with faith, people began to flock to that service. Seeing the people who took the oath dying reciting Kalimath al-Tawheed, the eminent scholars came to the facility. When the Quthbuzzaman visited the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in Rawla Sharif in 2011, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) commanded him to publicly declare that he was Quthbuzzaman.
The title of Quthbuzzaman informed during the spiritual conversation with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) at the age of 16 was announced to the public in December 2011 by the decree of Prophet (saw). He said that the power of Wilâyah
(governorate) in this age is in my hands and they will understand when the living Awliya’s come to me. I can clear up any doubts of any knowledgeable scholar, scientist or doctor. The source of my knowledge is the illiterate Prophet (peace be upon him). In a sermon witnessed by a large crowd, he declared that if you the resurrection of the dead to believe in me, I will do the same. In order to convince the people of the world about this, Qutb al- Aqtab Sheikh Jilani (ra) sent his descendants of this generation to Jilani Sharif in Aluva.
Ghaus-al-Alam Sheikh Jilani has sent us to honor Sheikh Yusuf Sultan Shah Qadiri Chishti, reveal their great position and bless them. This is our first visit to India. I would like to inform you that Sheikh Yusuf Sultan Shah Qadiri Chishti, who brought to you this land where the great path of the Gaussul Alam is being propagated, and the Gaussul Alam are happy with their activities. ” Sayyid Hashimuddin Qadiri al-Jilani, the universal spiritual leader of all contemporaries, came to Aluva Jilani Sharif and declared.
Sultanul Arifîn Sheikh Ahmad Kabir al-Rifai’s grandson, Holy Dargah Sharif handler ‘Sheikh Hassûn al-Rifai’ was sleeping in the premises of the Holy Dargah on a Friday morning, the Quthbuzzaman appeared with his grandfather, Sheikh Ahmad Kabir Rifai (ra) in a dream. “This Indian who came a few days ago, he was Quthbuzzaman, said three times.” And ordered to make a public announcement on Jumu’a. It was announced in a Friday sermon at Basra Mosque. At the request of a Malayali who was present in the audience, he wrote in his own handwriting.
He also announced Sheikh Yusuf Sultan Shah Qadiri Chisthi is the Quthbuzzaman at the Rifai Trust International Headquarters in Basra. When approached by main scholars who knew this, they were convinced of the truth. Later he came to Aluva Jilani Sharif in India to see Qutb. “Quthbuzzaman is carrying out the great task of preparing everyone who is born into this world to weep and die in complete Tawheed. It is dangerous for scholarly organizations operating in the name of Islam to move without embracing reality. I came here because my grandfather, Sheikh Ahmad Kabir Rifai (ra), whom the Muslim world respects, told me to make this public.” he declared in the Khilafat Ruby Jubilee Conference which was held in October 2014 and was witnessed by the mass swarm. Later, when Sultan Quthbuzzaman visited the sacred Shrine in Iraq, the holy Ring worn by Sheikh Ahmad Kabîr al-Rifai (ra) was handed over to Quthbuzzaman by his grandson, Sheikh Hassûn al-Rifai.
Quthbuzzaman was honored at the Shrine of Sayed Ahmad al-Badawi (ra), one of the greatest saints of Allah in Tanta, Egypt. The Makhbara was also opened for him.
For an Auliya to attain completion, he must see the Qutb of the period. Auliyas in different parts of the world seek to al-Mighty god for this. Allah informs about it to whomever He wills. Thus many personalities came to Aluva Jîlani Sharîf to see Quthbuzzaman.
Before the death of his first Sheikh, a Valiyy Sayyid Kamaluddîn al-Jilani, a descendant of Sheikh Jilani (ra) in Newzealand, asked, “Who is my guide now?” The Sheikh said that he would come to you. He was informed that “Sultanul Auliya” was to come from India. While he was in Dubai, Quthbuzzaman arrived and contacted him. He has seen various divine forms of Quthbuzzaman. Whenever he came to see, he would kiss the holy foot of Quthbuzzaman. As soon as he looked into the blue eyes of Quthbuzzaman, he received
the sacred knowledge that he did not get in life. “He is one of the most exalted of my disciples.” Quthbuzzaman has said about him.
When an onether valiyy called ‘Attar Mastan’ from Alappuzha came to see the great Quthbuzzaman, he would keep some distance from coming closer. When a disciple asked him the reason, he said, “Quthbuzzaman is surrounded by Angels. I cannot approach him.” Before he died in Ervadi, he told those around him, “Quthbuzzaman will come from Kochi to be the Imam for my funeral prayer. Don’t bury me until that person comes, ” Then Quthbuzzaman went there and prayed as an Imam.
Sayed Hassan Qadiri, the grandson of the great Scholar and Sufi Saint Sheikh Swadakathullah al-Khâhiri (may Allah be pleased with him), who wrote Qutubiyyat, a marvelous poem on the spiritual path and the grandsons of Sultanul Hind Khwaja Mu’inuddin Chishti (ra), various people, including Jahangir Sultan, the grandson of Qutb Shaheed Ibrahim Badushah (ra), used to come to see the Quthbuzzaman, Sultan of the Era,
“Practice with the Holy Tawheed and increase the power of Imân. It can remove heart disease, which is a illness of the mind. So be a living example of faith. If one’s faith is saved, his world and the Hereafter are saved. An intelligent man must first look for ways to save his Hereafter. Give the light of Tawheed to those who do not know the way and bring it to Allah and His Messenger (peace be upon him)”. Those who heard this advice passed it on to others. Quthbuzzaman spread the light of Holy Tawheed in the hearts of those who sought him and revived the religion.
About the beginning of the greatest Islamic renaissance seen in Kerala. Jealous of it, some organizations in the name of Islam misled the people. They tried to co-opt the government for it like the satanic alliances formed by Fir’on and Abujahal against the prophets. Hypocritical scholars who turned against spiritual leaders such as Sheikh Jilani (ra) and Sheikh Rifai (ra). History repeats itself here. But the Lord, the Most Exalted, nullified it all in plotting. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever is hostile to the Valiyy of Allah, then Allah has declared war on them.” Natural disasters, deadly diseases, and the financial crisis all came down.
In some cases, when the disciples said that there were problems, they would see a bright light coming from the body when the anger arose. Some of the disciples later asked him what it was and said it was Angel Jibrîl (a).
The punishment of Allah is upon all peoples. In 2016, on the instructions of the Sultan al- Hind khwaja Muînuddîn Chishti (ra), his grandchildrens conducted a huge reception at the place where Khwaja Garîb Navas (ra) preached in Ajmer under the leadership of Sayyid Hassan Chishti, handler of Ajmer Shrine. Quthbuzzaman went to the holy Dhargah with a thousand disciples. Sheikh Nizamuddin Sultan Shah Qadiri Chishti, Sheikh Ahmed Kabir Sultan Shah Qadiri Chishti and Sayed Shamsuddin Sultan Shah Qadiri Chishti, the children of Quthbuzzaman were also honored at the shrine, which is used only for Urs. When it was given to be published in the Kerala TV channels, it was blocked by an organization of followers of Iblis, the enemy of Tawheed, who gave them large sums of money. That evening, while the disciples were present at Aluva Jilani Sharif, the prophet Khidr (a), the friend of all Qutubs, came with a chain wrapped around his leg and asked
him to give him currency of five hundred and one thousand rupees and black clothes. When the conversation was over, Khidr nabi (a) walked away. Quthbuzzaman told everyone present who had come. They were likened to black robes by Sheikh Nizamuddin Sultan Shah Qadiri Chishti (The man in the black dress in that house), whom Allah had reserved for the future. The chain is also likened to the locking of notes. The next day, the Indian government issued a statement banning the notes. The grand plans announced by the organization by collecting money from the public people collapsed. They received ridicule of people everywhere, that state continues even today.
Once, during a visit to the Holy Rawla Sherîf in Medina, when Quthbuzzaman expressed worries about the opposition from some organisations, then Prophet Adam (a) appeared and bequeathed: “All of them are my children”. From then onwards, Quthbuzzaman proceeded with patience.
An Auliya was once imprisoned in Saudi Arabia, where some people in the area unjustifiably filed a lawsuit against a Valiyy of Allah in Africa. That is why the punishment of the Lord came down from there. The deadly Ebola virus has spread around the world. Seeing this, Sultan Quthbuzzaman, full of compassion, immediately went to Saudi Arabia and released the great man from prison. With that, the disease was gone.
Peoples from all religions, suffering from crises and diseases, came to the jilâni Sharif for healing.
Once a young man came fast and begged to Quthbuzzaman for his mother’s forgiving. He terrifically cried and regretted for hurting his mother a lot while she was alive. The dead mother appeared in front of the young man when he finished reciting the advised dikrs sitting near the grave. She said “The Sultan came to me and told me to forgive you, I agreed.” At that sight, the young man fell unconscious. Then his companions came and took him away.
Another time, a young Christian man said very sadly, “My wife ran away with the baby, I need to find my baby.”. “You go home and see them,” Quthbuzzaman said. The wife and child are standing with someone else when the young man goes to eat at the hotel on his way home. When she saw him, she approached him and apologized.
Many such incidents. Stopping the stories as it gets longer. The witchcraft healed the most and cast out demons. Many of the Auliyas who came to see the Quthbuzzaman were showed flying karâmat (ability to perform supernatural wonders). Quthbuzzaman tied their karamat to the pillars of the house and gave holy Tawheed Instead via covenant with Allah. Reminded them the karamat’s will not be useful in the hereafter. All you have to do is spread Tawheed to all over the world. It is the duty of every valiyy, scholars or an ordinary man to convey the path of Tawheed to others. At that Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would smile. The happiest of these, is our leader Sayyiduna Rasoolullahi (saw), the merciful man who wished that not a single person in my community would go to hell. The disciples of Quthbuzzaman were also carrying out the great mission performed by the Companions of the Prophet (saw).
Quthbuzzaman once visited the holy Shrine of the great Saint of Islam Sayyid Ahmad al- Badawî (may Allah be pleased with him) in Egypt. During the conversation Ahmad al- Badawi (ra) said, “If people does not obey your teachings, then those who do not want
Tawheed and the Rasulullah (saw) should not have a world, let the people learn a lesson.” Then came the global recession. But Allah and His Messenger will protect the Mu’min from all the calamities in this world till the end of the world. This is because of the prayer of the Prophet (peace be upon him). Allah-the Most Merciful, announced the good news through the Qur’an that Mu’mins will go to Paradise without trial in the end.
I will give the Dunyâ (earthly concerns and possessions) with my left hand and Jannah (heaven} with my right hand to those who seek me, but I will not give it to those who are not true in their intentions and throw it away.” There will be hypocrites among you. They are like the hypocrites in the time of the Prophet (peace be upon him). “If you have any doubts in this way, just go and see at the time of the death of my disciples. You can see them smiling and dying in Tawheed.
Quthbuzzaman announced that at the time of the capture of my disciple’s Spirit, Holy personalities like the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), Sheikh Jilani (ra) and I, along with Azrael (angel of death who seperate soul from the body) would be present. Many including scholars, laymen, women, children started dying with a beautiful smile on their face.
Quthbuzzaman declared that anyone even sinner who comes to me with the desire to save their Afterlife, will be transformed to be like him. He can even change drunkards just with a glance of compassion. His successor, Sheikh Nizamuddin Sultan Shah Qadiri Chisthi, was also giving others the light of guidance with a glance. Sheikh Jilani (may Allah be pleased with him) declared that the good of my disciples belong to Allah and the bad to me and that I belong to them.
Quthbuzzaman led the Urs of the Great Auliyas like Sheikh Jilani (ra) of Baghdad, Sheikh Rifai (ra) of Basra, Ajmer Shrine and Erwadi Dargah. In 2007, one of the overseers of the Holy Rawla Sharif of the Rasulullahi (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in Medina, invited to his house for a feast. He said that he was also seen Quthbuzzaman with Rasulullah (saw) in his dreams. According to the decree, the holy Sand of Makhbara and 7 holy Hairs of the Prophet (saw) were handed over to Quthbuzzaman. The sacred items were handed over to Quthbuzzaman Sufi Muhammed Yusuf Sulthan Shah Qadiri Chisthi, the 34th Caliph of the Rasulullahi (peace be upon him).
Reciting Kalimat Tawheed at every moments is mandatory to be useful it at the dying time. Knowledge is the cause of human success. Prophet Adam (a) exalted with the knowledge of Allah. Jeelani Islamic Academy was established on January 1, 2015. Scholars graduated from the Jîlani Academy as ‘Shah Jilani’ degree, who devoted a large part of their lives to the acquisition of various Knowledge such as Tafseer al-Qur’an, Hadith, Fiqh and Tasawwuf. And mainly they have renewed the covenant with Allah. They’re who have acquired the qualifications of self-brighten and meliorate others. self-improvement in addition to knowledge. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) praised these scholars as heirs of the Prophets, They also have the power to give Chisthi Tariqah to others. If they were in a locality, the people there would be better off and that they could die a Muslim or a Mu’min.
In the modern world, traditional Islam has been brought back in its entirety. On October 23, 2016, at Rajasthan, in the court of the Indian Sulthan Khwaja Muînuddîn Chishti (R),
a mission team was formed to spread the message of Holy Tawheed throughout India. True Sufism was taught to the people of the world. They collaborated in community service for people across caste and religious lines.
Quthbuzzaman was honored with the D-Lit (doctorate rank) by King’s University, a prestigious university in the field of Evangelical education in the United States for his service to global Sufism at a function held on November 24, 2018 at the Pleasant Day Resort in Chennai. Also honored in various fields including Sivagiri convent in Trivandrum for opening the door to the highest level of spirituality beyond caste and religions. The Award of Child Welfare Committee of the Government of Kerala for charitable activities and the 20’th Jwala Award. When Allah honours a person, his creation also honours that person. Quthbuzzaman hold in high esteem as the chief guest at the memorial function of the famous Sufi poet ‘Amir Khusrow’ organised by Nizamiya Foundation, New Delhi.
The UAE government presented the Cultural Award. People across different places of Arabia welcomed and honoured his high position. The Peoples enjoyed the beauty of Divine love through Spiritual training. Quthbuzzaman became their passion.
The Master became more beloved than their own body through the divine love they experienced when knew the Rasulullah (peace be upon him) intimately. As the Companions understood the meaning of the words of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), “No one can be a true believer without loving me more than himself.”, the disciples of Quthbuzzaman, the 34th representative of the Prophet (peace be upon him) also under stood. Quthbuzzaman taught Taqwa (being conscious and cognizant of God), Zuhd (devote and abstinence) and Hub (desire for God) to closer to the al-Mighty Allah.
Many of the disciples experienced the words of perfection, “If my disciple set foot on earth, I will know it and I will be with him.” In London, a disciple sitting anxiously on Musalla (prayer mat) in his new room without recognising the Qibla. When he was saddened and closed his eyes, Quthbuzzaman came and showed him the direction, saying, “Turn Musalla to this side.” And disappeared when he opened eyes.
Quthbuzzaman saved the Disciples from the dangers of road accidents, violence and murder. They understood the words of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) God’s judgement cannot be prevented without duâ (prayer of supplication). The great Saints interact with God by their holy Spirit and control the world.
Once, during a visit to Rawla Sharif, Quthbuzzaman saw a Pakistani man being beaten up by law enforcement officers and expelled while he was still in Ziyarat when it was time to close the mosque at night. Quthbuzzaman was saddened by that pitiful sight and request to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) to change this condition, to arrange for him to perform Ziyarat at night as well. A voice was heard from Rawla Sharif that “what you raised was a legitimate need.” From the next day onwards the government decided to keep the Holy Rawla open day and night.
In a similar incident, people used to visit the Makhbara of great Companion of Rasulullah (saw) Ka’ab ibn Zuhair (may Allah be pleased with him) resting in Al=Ain, UAE, in secret, hiding and climbing a wall. If found, the authorities will charge fine and chase them away. When disciples of Quthbuzzaman living there and told him to find a solution, when He
came to the Dhargah and said “Those who approach you are suffering. You need to change this situation.” One of the disciples was instructed to come to the dhargah after Maghrib prayer for five days in a row and perform a deed. On the fourth day, a board was set up sanctioning ziyarat for pilgrims from Fajr to Maghrib.
At the behest of the UAE citizen to a disciple who was there, the famous Sheikh Amir Alam Shah Bukhari from Pakistan, a descendant of Imam Bukhari (ra), took them to show the Shrine of the Ka’ab (ra) and he sat in the car without paying attention to that disciple. The distraught disciple said to Ka’ab (ra), “You must convince this Shaykh that I am the child of the Sultan” After saying this, the Sheikh came to the disciple and hugged him and spoke to him respectfully.
Many disciples had similar experiences from many Auliyas.
A disciple of Quthbuzzaman went to invite a famous Auliya who had come to Kerala from Lakshadweep (an island in the Indian ocean) to Tawheed. His body is slender enough to see the bones, but the elongated arm can not be pulled even if it is brought in and stretched by hundreds of elephants. He used to take allegiance to people by saying, “This is the hand of Gause al-Azam.” When the disciple came, he said, “Your sheikh is very great, He is the sultan of this period. But no disciple has revealed it. I do not like your sheikh’s style”. When the disciple anxiously told to Quthbuzzaman about this, and replied, “The man had some small skills in his hand. But now it’s all gone”. That great ability that had shone until then was gone.
Quthbuzzaman appeared in a dream to a disciple who was always looking at the face of Quthbuzzaman from a distance to inscribe that sacred face in his mind. When told of a mistake he had made while studying in a school at a young age, the disciple asked if Quthbuzzaman was there at that time. Then said, ” A spirit would go into the mother’s womb when the baby was four months old, and I would know it. I have been watching you ever since.”
The eldest son of Quthbuzzaman, Sheikh Nizamuddîn Sultan Shah Qadiri Chisthi who has been blessed with Wilayat since Childhood. When served them a disciple, that night Quthbuzzaman came to him in a metaphysical state in the form of that fills the whole universe and said, “What is your wish? I will grant it.”
A disciple told to Quthbuzzaman to scan the fingers for an identification document in Qatar, “In it are the sun and the moon, printing will not happen immediately”. When he raised his hand, the accompanying disciple saw the moon inside his right hand.
An esteemed 80-year-old man from a nearby family is lying on the verge of death in Aluva Thottumukham. The family slaughtered a buffalo for food, thinking he was going to die. Quthbuzzaman came there at that time with a relative. When he put his index finger on this man’s forehead, his whole body trembled. With the permission of Allah, his life was extended.
Quthbuzzaman visited Sheikh Jilani (ra) at Baghdad in 2017, Sheikh Jilani (ra) suggested that his eldest son, Sheikh Nizamuddin Sultan Shah Qadiri Chishti, succeed Him. When the subsequent Tawheed campaign was led by Sheikh Nizamuddin Sultan Shah Qadiri, people flocked to Jilani Sharif.
Quthbuzzaman signaled the departure by appointing His successor. He said that there would no Qutub after Him, it was announced that Imam Mahdi (a) would come next. At the Salat Majlis of Jilani Sharif on January 6, 2019, two weeks before His departure He explained His life, mission and message to the world and said, “I will only be there for this month more to say all these”, commemorating the farewell speech of the Prophet (peace be upon him). Many of the disciples were notified of their demise. When they told the Master about it, He jokingly said, “Aren’t I going to tie a new knot?”
A repetition of the words of the Sufi royal poet Sheikh Jalaluddîn Rûmi (ra) “Our death is our marriage to eternity.” Relatives and disciples from home and abroad were invited to the CIAL Auditorium in Kochi. It was also His last daughter’s wedding. Everyone was richly entertained. The relatives, friends and the Disciples, made them all happy together and gave them the celebration meal of eternal marriage and prepared to go to Allah, the ever loving Lord.
Death was also miraculous like birth. That night Quthbuzzaman went home and took Zamzam water to drink finally and went to the room number 101 of His own Taqdees Hospital with firm footsteps. The heart pang felt cannot be described in words. He repeatedly called out the names of Sayyiduna Muhammad, (peace be upon him) Sayyiduna Ali (ra) and Sayyiduna Abdul Qdadir Jîlani (ra) who had entrusted The Highness with the mission of holy Tawheed. Then turned to Allah, repeating the Kalimat al-Tawheed, “La ilaha illallahu Muhammadur Rasulullah.”
January 25th, 2019 (19 ofJumâd-ul-Awwal 19). The day that witnessed the tearful ocean of pious followers and mournful public. The divine light of Tawheed was handed over His beloved Son the supreme second, Sheikh Nizamuddin Sultan Shah Qadiri Chishti, who himself led the Janâza prayer.
Even today, Sultan Quthbuzzaman comes to us as a reminder of the Qur’anic verse that “life and death are equal for the Men of God”. The lovely words of mercy that “I will not let anyone, who has been sincere to me, leave this world without the Tawheed” give hope to those who love Quthbuzzaman.
Higness left after accomplishing His mission – Propagation of Holy Tawheed all over the world, through the millions of Quthbuzzaman’s disciples. With the blessings of the Lord, He successfully completed the mission entrusted to Him by Allah and His representatives.
He planted the seeds of divine love in the hearts of His disciples and said, “I will keep working even from the grave”, affirming His great endurance and determination on the eternal mission. The devout disciples go through the profound experience of what was that succinct gesture on eternity of the divine bond.
In 2016, a foremost scholar asked to test His authority and ability, “If one was a perfect wali (‘sufi saint), he could be able to be present at 40 places at once?. Quthbuzzaman replied in his unassuming smile of surety, “not just at 40 places, but four hundred! but do you have the eye to see that?” History testifies that such great Saints, ranging from Ghaus- e-A’zam Shaikh Abdul Qâdir al-Jîlâni and the Wali from Malabar Sayyid Umar Qâzi, had been found present at various places at once.
Beyond being bestowed of the supreme saintly status of Qutb, His Highness Quthbuzzaman Sufi Muhammad Yusuf Sultan Shah Qadiri Chishti’ (a) was chosen as Mahbūb, the beloved, of Allah. Nonetheless, bearing only the preconceived peripheral notions of the divine power and proximity, the sceptical scholars are unfortunate that above few paltry printed words on paper they hardly know the sweetness of divine love or the fabulous fathoms of faith which the chosen saints of Allah enjoy. They are capacious enough to be physically present and practically act in all worlds at once, including the seven heavens.
The contemporary Muslim world is in a state of iniquity and anarchy. The basic faith of Islam has sunk in the hearts of the people. The very glory of Islam was shattered when others took over the leadership of Muslims from the heirs of the Prophet (peace be upon him). In order to restore it, arrival of the last representative of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), Imam Mahdi (a) who prophesied in the ancient scriptures, the Qur’an and the Hadith.
Quthbuzzaman’s watchful words of prophesy where accurate and admonishing:
“After me, it is the times of Imam al-Mahdi (a). Everyone, including the believers, will face severe crises. Then you must steadfastly hold on to Sheikh Nizamuddin Sultan Shah Qadiri Chishti. Those who turn against Imam Mahdi (a) will only be evil scholars. And those who have entered the spiritual path (tarîqa) will be informed of Imam Mahdi (a) through their Sheikhs (guiding spiritual master) and become his followers.”
Those believers with firm source of faith will be the only fortunate ones to follow Imam Mahdi (a). Opening the doors to that invaluable path of safety and solace during the end times, the great Sufi master chosen by Allah and the great men of virtue to propagate
_tauhīd_ Hzt. Sultan Quthbuzzaman appointed Sheikh Nizamuddin Sultan Shah Qadiri Chishti as his representative to lead the faithful followers toward Imam Mahdi (a).
Quthbuzzaman Dr. Sheikh Yūsuf Sultān shâh Qādiri Chishti is the noble Sufi master who has about sixty calīphs in the ‘complete Qadiriyya’ (‘tawhîd-e-kamil’) tarîqa. Further, there are more than 3000 caliphs around the world in the Qâdiriyah, Chishtiyyah, Khidriyyah, Rifâ’iyyah, Shâduliyah and Naqshbandiyyah Sûfi orders. They all do have numerous disciples too. They are by now spread across different parts of the world, including the United States, Russia, New Zealand, countries in Arabia and various nationalities of Africa, Asia and Europe. Through them, many others keep stepping to the divinely lit path of His Holy Hzt. Quthbuzzaman.
As soon as he was born, he was named Yûsuf by His grandfather and said, “this is a child who is going to be well-known like the Prophet Yûsuf (a)”. That prophecy came so true in time.
Quthbuzzaman says in his message to the people of the world:
“We live in a world full of problems and crises. Politics, organizations, families and individuals cannot be responsible to this. It is never wise to think that we can improve once all problems are solved. The betterment of man should not only be driven by material motives, but must be to achieve that victorious smile in death and the ultimate success in the hereafter. The afterlife, the real life, begins with death. Man must seek and be able to
tread the path of goodness and virtue before death. My invitation of the people of the world is to the Holy _Tauhīd_. This was the Tauhīd upheld by the forgone Prophets. It is through this Tauhīd that the beloved Prophet Muhammad Rasūlullāh (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) purified the society. _Auliyas_ (Sufi saints), including Sheikh Muhyiddîn Abdul Qâdir Jîlani (ra), reformed the society by reviving this supreme sacred word of God. I am inviting you to this _Tauhīd_, to the pristine path of Islamic tradition (where Shari’a and Tarīqa are inseparable). I am carrying out this mission with the very permission and abundant blessings of Allah and his beloved Rasûl (s.a.w). This is not any newly found movement or recently firmed organization. Instead, this is the chosen way of Allāh and his beloved Rasūl (s.a.w.), the way in which the holy _Kalimat al-Tauhīd_ was transmitted by the wise _swahāba_ and great ārifīn and auliyā’ (the knowledgeable Sufi saints). I am sure that you can succeed if you go by this right path.” : Hzt. Quthbuzzaman pointed out in wonderful words of wisdom and warning. The most soulful and strongest words of hope for those who crave to succeed in the life Hereafter!
In Surah Shams (chapter no. 91) of the Holy Qur’an, swearing upon his magnificent signs in celestial creations far beyond human abilities, Allah says in deeply alerting words that the one who purifies the soul is successful and the one who defiles it is doomed to fail. Through the profoundly powerful act of _bai’ah_ (the spiritual initiation from a Shaikh-e- kāmil in the complete _kalima_ of _tauhīd) the soul which passed from Allāh will begin to be in His permanent remembrance (_dhikr_), surpassing the seven heavens and soothed to be in supreme satiety.
In each breath, _tauhīd_ is inscribed by Allah and will be kept recited in that spirit.
_Tauhīd_ is the way for every beings, including the angels and the jinn (genie), to know Allah. The kernel and core of Holy Qur’an is also _Tauhīd_. Heavens’ existence is in it. What makes us Muslim is its presence in our heart. What makes us truly faithful (_mu’min_) is its unbroken sensation, the perpetually powerful presence. The righteous
_swahāba_ (the close followers of Prophet s.a.w.) were the living models of _tauhīd_.
In Surah al-Fat’h (chapter no. 48) of Holy Qur’an, Allah says that, they are the custodians and rightful heirs of _tauhīd_ and it is only to them that we deliver peace of heart. Since the times of beloved Rasūlullāh, the _Rahmatun-lil-ālamīn_ (S), the noble mission carried out down the line through his 35th representative Hzt. Quthbuzzaman, is to immerse and inculcate _tauhīd_ in each bit of breath human beings take in and out — enacting exactly what the Holy Prophet said, “a single unit breath of the _mu’minin_ (the truly faithful) can efface the sins of seventy years”.
The simple yet most meaningful impact of _tauhīd_ felt in each breath, is in order for anyone to know his or her very existence (ontology). To know who is and what is the true being of Rasūlullāh (S). To witness the divine unity, the only one God, the _rab_, the supreme sustainer. And to see Him in unending fulfilment during the eventual moments of death
To the ever permanent God, there is the world of creations and the world of command. Quthbuzzaman Shaikh Yousuf Sulthan Shah Qadiri Chishti is the command of Allāh which was unknown to humans. He keeps helping and protecting His lovers through the divine
light of the all sustaining Allah. Blissfully, He comes in front, makes his powerful presence, for his adept followers (_murīd_) awake or asleep.
Death is only for the physical body. The Spirit is from Allāh and it will survive forever. That is an honour of Allāh to the descendants of Adam. The spiritual mastery promised by Quthbuzzaman is the perfect way to see Allah forever, as the more preciously bestowed reward than attaining the paradise, for those who want to know the soul by purifying it and by knowing our levels of consciousness.
With respect to you, our heartfelt invitations to be blessed by knowledge of Oneness, to the wonderful world of Holy Tauhīd. All praise and piety are unto the eternal Oneness of Almighty Allah!
All Praise To Allah, The One.
Nâeb Quthbuzzaman Sheikh Dr. Nizamuddin Sultan Shah Qadiri Chisthi
The lineage traces back from the land of the Holy Medina with the blessed presence of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), in the descendants of Sheikh Muhammad Muhyuddîn (RA), one of the four companions who came to Kerala four centuries ago to propagate Islam. Nâeb Quthbuzzaman was born on 11th of Rabî-ul-âkhir 1194 AH as a member of the famous Venniparambu family in Aluva, Ernakulam. It is to be noticed that the birth of the Muhyiddîn of the current period ‘Sheikh Nizâmuddin Sultan Shah Qadiri Chishti’ happened to be on the Urs day of Sheikh Muhyuddîn Abdul Qâdir Jilâni (RA).
This lineage, in which many eminent scholars, Auliyas and Quthbuzzamân were born, goes back to Abû Salmat (may Allah be pleased with him), a companion of the Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him).
Hzt. Sheikh Nizamuddin Sulthan Shah Qadiri Chishti belongs to the scholarly family of Vennipparambu which emanated long ago out of the transoceanic connections between India and Arabia and rooted in the cosmopolitan currents of Cochin — the historic port- city that cherish the profuse heritage of cultural and commercial exchanges across the Indian Ocean. Vigorously at present, it is Hzt. Nā’eb Quthbuzzaman who leads this cordial culture and cosmopolitan heritage of Qadiri Sufism, by reposing Islamic tradition for the survival and success of humanity as ethically mindful and spiritually interconnected moral beings. Beyond all parochial borders, He upholds the broader implications of piety and pluralist precepts, encouraging human and non-human diversity and dignity on the planet.
After the renewal of the covenant with Almighty Allâh in the world of souls, Sheikh Yûsuf Sultan Shah Qâdiri Chishti visited the shrine of Sayyid Muhammad Nizamuddin Auliya (ra) at Delhi In 1970. During their conversation, Nizamuddin Auliya (RA) said, “Oh Sultan.. I am seeing a boy in your back!” When Quthbuzzaman, who had not even thought about marriage, told that “My life had been set aside for the Lord”, Nizamuddin Auliya (RA) said again, “You will get married for sure”. Hearing this Quthbuzzaman replied immediately
saying “If so, I will give that child Your name!’ Then the epic reply came Nizamuddin Auliya (RA) “My presence will always be with that son”. Sheikh Nizamuddin Sultan Shah Qadiri Chishti, the successor and first son of Quthbuzzaman, was a rare figure who’s name was hailed years before His birth.
The shade and the characteristics of the Father, Al-Insân al=Kâmil (The Complete Human Being) was also evident in the child. Among the perversions of childhood while growing up under the watchful eye of Muhammad Nizamuddin Auliya (RA), He was once beaten by His holy Father when He was four. Soon Nizamuddin Auliya (RA) appeared and asked Quthbuzzaman about the reason to hurt the blessed child. He was not even allowed to sleep that night. Mahbûb-e-Ilâhi Nizamuddin Auliya (RA) was in pain as the child was hurt.
Later, the child was brought up in the loving care of His beloved Father, who had been in a metaphysical realm (God-consciousness) for 11 months and knew all about the future, knew that He was the next child to pass on the divine light of Tawhîd. Once upon a time, the relatives were complaining to Quthbuzzaman about the misdeeds of a 9-year-old boy. So, to convince them of the greatness of the child, He took them to the place where the Hâdirât (spiritual teleportation) of Qutb al-Sultan Sheikh Ibrâhîm Shahîd Badshâh Erwâdi (ra) in Aluva, Ambattukavu. When he saw the Child, he pointed to the sky and told them, ‘The Child is already sitting on the moon and will reach a higher Daraja (rank from God) in the future. You do not have to worry.’ He convinced them all by showing that Karâmat.
Up to the age of 12, he slept with Quthbuzzaman, the living Qur’an and the ocean of knowledge. Fellowship and closeness with the Father helped in spiritual upliftment. Seeing many secret visions of Allah helped in spiritual awakening.
Quthbuzzaman passed on the divine word and secret knowledge at an early age to His beloved Son. When two bodies of the same strength and karmic direction are dragged and the distance between them disappears, they become one. With the firm words that My foot is My son’s, Quthbuzzaman said that wherever that foot is pierced, there will be mercy and if the devil sees those footsteps, he will run away.
At the age of 16, He went with His Father to the Holy Haram for Hajj. With divine love, He cried out to the Lord for Tawhîd, holding the pillar of the Kaaba and weeping!, then God accepted the teenager’s prayer.
At the holy Maqam Ibrahim, He swore allegiance to Tawhîd from His Father, the emperor of Tawhîd. Under the direction of Quthbuzzaman, he completed many intense Riyalas (spiritual rites).
In 2009, Highness Sheikh Nizâmuddîn Sutân Shâh Qâdiri Chisti received the authority to hand over Tawhîd from His Father at the Khilafat Conference held in Jîlani Sharîf.
In 2017, at the invitation of Sheikh Abdul Qâdir Jilâni (ra), Quthbuzzaman traveled to Baghdad Sharif with 786 Murids (disciples) and dedicated them all in that way. They are also the disciples of Sheikh Jilani (ra). And the contemporary true believers who came through the line of the Companions of the Prophet (peace be upon Him)
Sheikh Jilani (ra) suggested to select Nizamuddin Sultan Shah Qadiri Chishti as your Nâeb (the successor). Thus Quthbuzzaman entrusted His beloved son with the holy mission of propagating Tawhîd. God blessed that mission with great success. jilani Sherif was overwhelmed.
In the saintly chain (‘silsila’) of Qadiri-Chishti Sufi masters, to carry forward Hzt. Quthbuzzaman’s Sufi path of the complete kalima and His entire holy mission, Nā’eb Quthbuzzaman Sheikh Nizamuddin Sulthan Shah Qadiri Chishti arose to spiritual power as the 35th descendant of Holy Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w), and was chosen as the 18th Sufi successor of Ghause A’zam Sheikh Muhyiddin Abdul Qadir al-Jeelani (ra), the founder of Qadiri Sufism at Baghdad Sharîf.
Taking up the phenomenal mission of reviving the original spirit of religion (dīn), Hzt. Nā’eb Quthbuzzaman gracefully upholds the cherished message of the beloved father and the greatest Sufi visionary of our times: insisting on returning to the more amicable path of traditional Islam the foundation of which is Tawhīd (divine unity) and Thasawwuf (Sufism).
Nâeb Quthbuzzaman-Sheikh Nizamuddin Sultan Shah Qadiri Chishti attained the status of ‘Rijal al-Ghaib’, a spiritual training given by Quthbuzzaman, which is especially given by Allah-the Possessor of sovereignty to the exalted Sufi Saints who can sit in one place and reach any corner of the world in an instant.
When the Hajj began in 2014, He left home and reached the Haram of Mecca in a matter of seconds and performed the Hajj with His Father. Quthbuzzaman ordered a Caliph to tell the story publicly so that the world would know that sacred glory of Nizamuddin Sultan Shah Qadiri Chishti.
Everyone understood the meaning of Quthbuzzaman’s statement that He would leave after giving His Son all the ranks other than Qutb.
Nâeb Quthbuzzaman is the guide to the awaited Caliph of the Islamic world, Sayyiduna Imam al-Mahdi. His disciples are also waiting for the announcement of Quthbuzzaman “another Qutb will not come after me, but Imam Mahdi” (a).
Sheikh Nizamuddin Sultan Shah Qadiri Chishti is also a rare valiy in the list of the great Auliyas of Allah who imitate the spontaneous style of maintaining the perfection in worship. But God made that illuminated face appear on the Moon to the world as a sign, Those who have seen that face shining on the full moon are countless. The Almighty Allâh shown the face of Quthbuzzaaman when He came to Kerala in late 1970’s with the propaganda of Tawhîd as an example. GOD reveals the revelations to whom He wills, in order to strengthen the skeptics and to make believers happy.
When Quthbuzzaman served as a Khatîb (prayer leader and preacher) according to the Hanafi Madhab in the mosque near the shrine of a Great Saint Pîr Qamar Ali Darwesh (ra) in Shivapur, Mumbai, there is a world-famous wonder that heavy stone gets levitated in the air in the 700 year-old Dhargah of Hzt. Qamar Ali Darwesh (ra). The stone weighs 90 kg and is lifted by the index finger with the name of ‘Qamar-Ali Darwesh’. It will also be lifted after the names of ‘Quthbuzzaman’ and ‘Nâeb Quthbuzzaman’. This wonder will last till the end of the world. Allah has shown innumerable miracles through the Nâeb Quthbuzzaman-Nizamuddin Sultan Shah Qadiri Chishti.
Karâmats are the signs of Allah which are manifested through the Saints to enlighten the people of different perspective of thought to the light of Holy Tawhîd. It is also a test of Allah through the descendants of Rasûlullâh (peace be upon him) those will last till the end of the world to increase the faith of believers and premonition of the disbelievers.
Quthbuzzaman likened Nâeb Quthbuzzaman to the Ark of Prophet Nûh (a). The Rasulullah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and Quthbuzzaman warned of the terrible calamities facing the community during these times. The ark of Noah (a) did not sink in any crisis. Everyone who got on it escaped.
In 2019, at the Quthbuzzaman Memorial Conference, on the instructions of the great Sultanul Hind Khwâjâ Muînuddîn Chishti (ra), His grandson and the handler of Ajmîr shrine, Haji Sayd Fakray Hassan Chishti came to Aluva Jilani Sharif and honoured the Nâeb Quthbuzzaman-Sheikh Nizamuddin Sultan Shah Qadiri Chishti with royal attire and declared “Nâeb-Quthbuzzaman should be respected as Quthbuzzaman was respected. The process of renaissance of Tawhîd would continue through Sheikh Nizamuddin Sultan Shah Qadiri Chisti”, suddenly The All-Seeing God blessed with raindrops falling from the sky.
The fond followers and adept āshiqīn (lovers) are experiencing the love, grace and generosity bestowed by Hzt. Na’eb Quthbuzzaman Shaikh Nizamuddīn Sulthan Shah Qadiri Chishti, the most eminent of contemporary Sufi saints in the chain of sacred personalities from the House of Vennipparambu. The piety, pleasure and perfection of mind felt in his presence powerfully reminisce Hzt. Quthbuzzaman. Each moment of His movement and posture so closely reminds Hzt. Quthbuzzaman. In conduct and quality, Na’eb Quthbuzzaman invokes only the beloved Father, Hzt. Quthbuzzaman.
In Surah Al-Ambiya, Allah says to His Messenger: “Say: I am being taught that your God is One God, so are you Muslims?” But in order to be a Believer, one has to bear witness in Kalimat al-Tawhîd (Absolute Kalima)
And it is only with the presence of ‘Muhammad Rasūlullāh’ that the kalima turns perfect and absolute in a man. This perfection realized through the representative of Allah, the Prophet (s.a.w), makes the difference between a truly faithful and an unfaithful. Only those who agree with and abide by the absoluteness of the Prophethood as the fundamental component of faith can be considered a believer with kalima perfected.
To attain the perfection of kalima and completeness of being, one has to witness the Prophetic presence in heart. And it is this nūr or the divine light of Muhammad Rasūlullāh (s.a.w) that is conferred and confirmed in heart by the act of bai’ah (declairing on oath) by a Shaikh-e-kāmil. The sheikh-e-kāmil represents the part of the ‘Muhammadi light’ and ensures its presence in a murīd (initiated disciple).
Thus, a perfected Muslim keeps his primordial promise to Allah and sacred wow to Him intact in his innermost self. He, thus, witnesses the presence of the Prophet in soul, and
enact the power of perfect kalima with ease. As the Prophetic tradition goes: “reported by Jâbir bin Abdillâ (ra),
He said, the angels came to the Prophet (s.a.w) and a section of whom proclaimed:
“anyone who obeys Muhammad (s.a.w) is obeying Allah, and anyone who disobeys Muhammad (s.a.w) is disobeying Allah, and Muhammad (s.a.w) is the (criteria of) difference between people”
(Quoted in Sahīh al-Bukhāri). Carrying the the divine light of Muhammad (s.a.w) forward, His Highness Nâeb Quthbuzzaman has warned all the people time and again that the ‘sheikh’/master of a person without Sheikh-e-kāmil is shaitān (the devil). And His Highness used to emphasis the very point that the perfection of the life of human beings is by attaining Muhammad Rasūlullāh (s); without Him even one’s belief in Allah is in vain.
The human role model of care and creativity, Hzt. Nā’eb Quthbuzzaman perfectly commands the leadership for the present generation of people around the world, educating them in moral integrity and empowering them to selflessly serve humanity. In all walks, Nā’eb Quthbuzzaman’s Sufi mission is keen on meeting the pressing needs of the presen; spreading deep hope, moral integrity and spiritual perseverance in the perilous times of moral deterioration, natural calamities and the woeful pandemics. Dr. Quthbuzzaman, for the late-modern times of distressed humanity and extra-human precarities.

Unlike the exclusionary ideologies of modern fundamentalists and extremists, Nâeb Quthbuzzaman gently treads in the firm footsteps of Hzt. Quthbuzzaman, seeking to revive the original vitality of Islamic tradition for its clarity of the concept of humanity and its practically sound methods of spiritual re-unification of human societies
If any one commits major sins, purposely or unwittingly, under the superfluous influence of materialistic ideologies and immoral misguidings of our times, and dies without proper repentance (tawba), Allah’s punishment will be incumbent upon him, whether s/he be a minor or grown up individual.
Whereas, once we accept Tawhīd our inner self, the soul, wakes up to light. Every act done after removing the blindfolds off the heart, prudence of piety protects him and gentle wisdom leads him. S/he cannot proceed in any action without remembering Allah and his beloved Rasūl, and their guiding path.
That path of kalima clearly distinguishes for him the right way and righteous intention, off all the vile and wrong. Performing kalima is in itself is a profound repentance from all the previously committed sins and vicious deeds. Thus, kalima perfects a man and grounds him/her perpetually on righteous path, being cared in each step, and reducing distance to the permanent success.
But, how can one learn to practice kalima in everyday life? To learn the discipline and ritual specifications of performing kalima is obligatory hence inevitable to any and every Muslim on earth. It is to this very fundamental idea that Dr. Nā’eb Quthbuzzaman Sheikh Nizāmuddīn Sultan Shah Qadiri Chishti invites the humanity. This core principle and practice of success forms the Sufi message of Hzt. Nā’eb Quthbuzzaman, assuring the ultimate success in the life hereafter. No one, except those who are given permission by Allah s.w.t., can bolder to proclaim the power of kalima al-Tawhid with surety of success like this.
It is about them that Allah said,
“Allah Sent Down His Tranquillity Upon His Messenger (Rasūl) And The Truly Faithful (Mu’minīn); Engaging Them In (And Inspiring Them To Uphold) The Kalima Of Taqwa, — The Declaration Of Faith—, For They Were Better Entitled And More Worthy Of It”.
(Holy Qur’an 48:26).
Taqwa, what is considered the core of clear conviction (yaqīn) and powerful faith (Īmān), is rooted in the practice of kalima and permanent presence of it in heart. And to get that proclamation of faith inscribed on heart and be perpetual in soul, one has to receive it from the Shaikh-e-kamil sent by Allah, in the saintly chain (silsila) of Auliyaa’, the trustworthy Sufis.
Allah s.w.t. made it clear,
يٰۤـاَيُّهَا الَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوا اتَّقُوا اللّٰهَ وَكُوۡنُوۡا مَعَ الصّٰدِقِيۡنَ
“O believers, keep taqwa (be mindful of Allah); be with trustworthy people (be in company of sādiqīn) [Holy Qur’an, 9:119 / (verse no. 119, Surah Taubah].
Perfection of a man is based on his level of taqwa. And taqwa, as Allah stressed, is rooted in being with, that is to be with the perfect, the Auliya-Allah (sufi-saints). By being with them, and receiving the kalima from them, and finding no time outside of them, one attains the perfection a man can seek after the Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w).
Yes, the bond, the spiritual connectedness that makes all perfection possible. The spiritual bond with Allah is more sacred and powerful. And Allah deals with the rūh (the spirit/the soul) which was existent before the birth and will survive even after the death of the body. It is only _bai’ah_ (the renewal of the spiritual covenant with Allah) from the Shaikh-e- kāmil that ensures the purity and perfection of the soul. The renewal of the spiritual bond is the step to enlighten the soul by the nūr of Muhammad Rasūlullah in life, of kalima in heart. That is the way to success, the perfect path (tarīqa) to Almighty Allah s.w.t.
